Adding support to OpenNMS for a new SNMP device
This hands-on workshop takes attendees through the process of configuring OpenNMS to manage an actual SNMP-supporting device for which only very basic support currently exists. The workshop covers the creation of definitions for SNMP data collection, SNMP trap-derived events, service polling, and resource graphs.
Attendees should arrive having a basic working familiarity with OpenNMS, SNMP, and network management concepts and terminology. They will leave with first-hand experience that demystifies this process and is applicable to their daily work.
